Started on March 14th 2007, at Nemasu
We were asked to visit Nemasu in 2007, when we arrived at the school there were 66 children cramped into a tiny rented room. As we were unable to improve the existing facility the Trust bought a piece of land and built a new two classroom nursery school which opened in 2008.
Since that time we have purchased the adjoining land, and in 2012, added a third classroom, office, extended the playground and built a new kitchen to provide lunches for the 150 children on the school roll. The school is run by the headmaster, Mr Sallah with 3 teachers, Abdou, Momodou and Fatou Dibba. The Trust has paid for Abdou and Momodou to qualify on the Early Child Development course. Fatou will be sponsored for the next course starting in 2013. Drumming lessons are also provided.
We have built a much needed well near the school to benefit the whole village. The well was completed in April 2012 and a celebration program was attended by the whole village, the school and the school drummers.
